Where Fitbod is stronger
Fitbod takes the planning off your plate. Tell it your equipment and goals, and it proposes each session, adjusting as you log. If you're newer to lifting or tired of designing programs, that's the value, and Talus doesn't try to replace it. Fitbod also has watch apps on both Apple Watch and Wear OS.
Where Talus is different
Talus is a log, not a coach. You set the exercises, sets, reps and rest; it shows what you did last time, keeps rest timers, and lets you reorder or substitute mid-workout without losing logged sets. That suits people following a program they trust.
It costs $56 a year less than Fitbod's annual plan, and an Apollo subscription covers a partner.
Each person's Talus training stays private, even on a shared subscription.
Which to choose
Ask who decides the workout. If it's the app, choose Fitbod. If it's you or your coach, a logger like Talus is the simpler and cheaper fit.
